On 29th August, the entry drawing of Marathon and Half Marathon Events of 2018 Guangzhou Marathon was successfully completed. Yu Hexin, who just took home two gold medals in the swimming competition at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, was present and started the draw ceremony. Drawing results are available at 10:00 a.m. on 30th August on http://www.guangzhou-marathon.com/. Applicants can visit the official website or the MalaMala app for drawing results, and receive message and email notifying their selection status from the Organizing Committee.

This year, a total of 99,330 runners have applied for entry to 2018 Guangzhou Marathon, comprised of 63,031 Marathon applicants (80.8% of whom are male runners while 19.2% are female runners) and 36,299 Half Marathon applicants (65.6% of whom are male runners while 34.4% are female runners).

The quota allocation and drawing of this year’s race are carried out as followed: the racing field is made up of 20,000 Marathon runners and 10,000 Half Marathon runners. Of the 63,031 Marathon applicants, 1,877 are Elite Runners and 904 are Loyal Runners (with 160 being recognized as Elite Runners simultaneously). Of the 36,299 Half Marathon applicants, 112 are Elite Runners and 368 are Loyal Runners (with 7 being recognized as Elite Runners simultaneously). According to the regulations, Elite and Loyal Runners set forth are eligible to attain direct entry into the race.

Once the drawing results are released, payment channels will be open. Eligible runners shall pay the entry fee online NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. on 10th September to confirm entry places. Otherwise, entries will be deemed void automatically.
